At 2 months old, Yiting went for her first vaccination jab on 23rd sep. Poor baby was crying in pain boo hoo...

weight :5kg

length : 56cm
head circumference : 37.5cm

Very soon, in another month's time, i will be returning to the workforce, oh how i'll miss my little cutie... will baby miss mummy?

Also in anticipation, is yixin's 3rd birthday! it's gonna be a "pink and princessey" party for the little evil haa..

Baby yiting is 1.5mths old now!

she is now learning how to roll over to the side.. almost there, just a little more to do a complete turn to her side heehee.

Also, when we talk to her, and touch her little hand, she will look into your eyes, and babble back to you as if she is conversing with us. such an adorable angel.

Yixin is also learning... learning how to be a good sister... she loves to help out around when we are looking after yiting, but most of the time, she still gets the blame for causing yiting to cry hmm..

All Dressed Up for National Day! (^▽^)

Today, Yixin is all dressed up in Red and White for school cos' it's celebration for National Day!

I'm proud of this going-to-be 3yr old kid, who can sing the first 4 phrases of "Stand Up for Singapore". All thanks to daddy, cos this is also his favorite national song...

Arrival of a New Bundle of Joy aka Yiting (・ω・)/

Announcing the arrival of the second princess... Baby Yiting...

venue : National University Hospital, Singapore
birth date : 24th July 2009, Friday (think my babies like to come out on Fridays)
time : secret

weight : 3.375kg (0.030kg heavier than yixin)
length : 50cm (2cm taller than yixin)
head circumference : 33cm (0.5cm smaller than yixin)

At the Delivery Suite after birth
this time round, i tried to go w/o epidural... contractions started as early as 8.30am, but i "die die" also must go back office to settle my "handing over of duties" since it was also my last day before maternity leave commences... never underestimate a woman's will power... went to clinic at 1.30pm, see gynae at 2pm plus, and i was already 7cm dilated...

At Home (1st to 2nd week of birth)
With experience handling yixin, looking after yiting is not as difficult. the challenge is more of tackling yixin's jealousy and preparing her as an elder sis, teaching her how to love the little one. not bad, so far so good... yixin has always been caring, just that she is a little mischief... likes the way she kisses and strokes the little sister, wanting to protect her.... ask yixin if we can give meimei away, she will say, "no, she is mine". heee... i have to agree i am turning a little impatient with yixin, cos she often defy us, perhaps becos she wants more attention from us... therefore i always try to hug and offer her kisses when yiting is put to bed... not forgetting, the big princess also has a fragile heart... (I love you both!)

Ever since we returned from HK Disneyland in Feb 09, Yixin is in a fanatic craze over Disney Princesses, and any princesses that are dressed like a erm, princess.. Thus, with special demands from Yixin, I shall bestow her as my Princess Yixin.

Busy with my not-so-new job now, I must acknowledge that this website is starting to grow cobwebs.. but now, I shall try to revive it, let's cross our fingers..

Yixin will be turning 3 yrs old in another 3 more mths, I've promised her I will give her a Princess Party hee... this lil' girl has now reached the age whereby she is asking "why" and 为什么 for 90% of the time, imitating our words and actions 90% of the time, and the remaining time is spent to defy our orders... Discipline is now the keyword and THE most difficult word.

Heard from a colleague, a story of a boy who fails to listen to "first-time obedience" from his parents and resulted in a sad ending. Thus all the more it is impt to instill discipline in this lil' girl who is starting to have a mind of her own.

Yixin and Mummy (≡^∇^≡)

Yixin went for 2 trial playgroup sessions on separate occassions for the past 2 weekends... at Pat's Schoolhouse@ Ridgewood and Growing Up Gifted (GUG).

She had fun, but it took her a while to get used to the crowd and presence of the other kids who were ard her agegroup.

Thing about yixin is she isn't used to listening to teachers' instructions. She has the tendency to wanna wander off and do her own things when the teacher is reading them a book or teaching them phonics... hope this will be better once she gets used to attending classes... after all, it's only her first time...

she pays more attention when it's arts lesson and music lesson though...

guess i'm right, my girl is more artistic than 'scientific'...

dancing, singing, painting, she's alright... but reading a book... hmmmzz.... need to try harder...

at her first trial at Pat's Schoolhouse, she painted a SUN, with stripes of orange paper stuck on the sides of a paper plate (sun rays) and painted the centre of the plate yellow... though she did grabbed and tasted the white glue, which scared the teacher and dear... haha. quite funni come to think of it..

at her second trial, their art lesson was to create a "miniature" fish tank. with ikan bilis as the fish aka dead fish... and seaweed that we eat as snacks as the erm, seaweed... sand, blinging paper and of cos, water with blue food dye....

ta-da... fish tank is done... but yixin was more interested to get the blinging paper more than anything else, cos she kept saying "mei mei" (beautiful)... funni to see 4-5 kids sitting ard, playing with the ikan bilis and sand. several of the kids actually poured the water out of the bag... which created quite a small hoo-haa in class..

After much considerations, we've decided to enrol Yixin for the D'story Club lessons at Pat's Schoolhouse, it's a weekly lesson on Sat mornings. Reason being, it's less classroom settings, more spaces to run ard, lesser kids in one single class, nearer to home, and there's outdoor play (i.e. sand and water), plus both daddy and mummy can join in... whereas at GUG, cos of the space constraint, only one parent can join in the class....

think yixin will have lotsa fun... her first lesson will be on 26th July.

of cos, $$$ flying away...

these will hopefully prepare yixin for her daily (mon-fri) pre-nursery classes next year......

After our bird park excursion on 1 May, Thursday... here's another fun stuff we did with baby!

We went swimming yesterday (4 May, Sunday)!

That's Yixin's second trip to the pool, after her first one few months back...

Ohhh... ants.... "The ants go marching one by one, hoorah, hoorah.."

Until she accidentally drank a mouthful of pool water, and coughed a few times...

Then, she was scared and refuse to venture into the water...

The only thing she wanted was to sit by the side, at her very safe corner on the steps...

Took us 10-15mins to convince baby to get out of the corner and walk into the waters with daddy holding onto her...

and she loves it! so much that she refuses to go...

Water gets into her eyes as she splashes the water....

haha.... here is she trying to wipe the droplets off her face...

We're heading home after an hour at the pool...
