Miscellaneous: Yellow Lilium

Miscellaneous: Yellow Lilium

The yellow Lilium is my favorite flower, I just like it because I believe that it have a hypnotizing beauty. When I was living alone in Antafagasta I used to decorate my apartment with this amazing flower, it really make me fell more happy when I got home and with the Lilium there I didn’t felt lonely n_n.
I really doesn’t know the meaning of yellow Lilium until today that I search it on Internet. It really surprise me. Here are the result of the search.

Lilium: it represents luxury and beauty and is the flower of sweetness (*o*)
Yellow Lilium: It is the flower of sweet friendship.
In general yellow flowers represent happiness and friendship.

Lilium longiflorum: (Japanese Teppouyuri) often called the Easter lily or November lily, is a plant native to Japan and the Ryukyu Islands. It is a stem rooting lily, growing up to 1 m high. It bears a number of trumpet shaped, white, fragrant, and outward facing flowers.

A variety of it, L. longiflorum var. eximium, native to the Ryukyu Islands, is taller and more vigorous. It is extensively cultivated as a cut flower. It has irregular blooming periods in nature, and this is exploited in cultivation, allowing it to be forced for flowering at particular periods, such as Easter. However, it can be induced to flower over a much wider period. This variety is sometimes called the Bermuda lily because it has been much cultivated in Bermuda.

Before World War II, most of the Easter lily bulbs arriving in the United States were imported from Japan. However, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the supply of bulbs was suddenly cut off, and the Easter lilies became extremely valuable in the United States.

Lilium longiflorum, amongst some other types of lilies, are extremely poisonous to cats

See ya!
Blurn n_-

Places: Atacama Desert Chile

Places: Atacama Desert Chile

Hello again to everyone! To day I’ll talk about Atacama Desert.
For the ones who doesn’t know about this place Atacama Desert is a virtually rainless plateau in South America, extending 966 km (600 mi) between the Andes mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It’s the driest place on Earth, and is virtually sterile because it is blocked from moisture on both sides by the Andes Mountains and by the Chilean Coast Range. The cold Humboldt Current and the anticyclone of the Pacific are essential to keep the dry climate of Atacama Desert. The average rainfall in the Chilean region of Antofagasta is just 1 mm per year.

It is also a place were Incas Lived.

This place is just AWESOME, even that the climate is very dry, the contrast of colors it is amazing. The bluest skies are here. I’ve lived in that place for almost 10 years in 2 different cities, Antofagasta and Calama, and in 1 town Chuquicama ( a copper mine camp), the most impress of desert is the silence, only the sound of wind between the salad rocks.
The most beautiful stars are in Atacama Desert, you can see almost the hole universe there. That’s is why I used to dream to be a autonomous. I’ve watched the stars every night, all the constellations and satellites from the roof of my houses. That was Just amazing.
It is a place were you can fell pass and present in the same time. Every time that I go there I feel like I’m time traveling to the Incas time.
The sunset and sunrise are just perfect, there is nothing better than see sunrises in “El Tatio” next to the Andes Mountains (Tatio is a geysers place). And sunsets on the desert beach. The colors are Wordless.
It’s just an amazing place.
